Finding Your Collectors: Build a Clear Artistic Identity and Grow a Lasting Collector Base
Many artists struggle not because their work lacks quality, but because they do not know how to reach the right audience. Without a clear artistic identity and collector strategy, it becomes difficult to communicate your value, connect with potential collectors, and build consistent support around your practice.
Finding Your Collectors is a four-part workshop intensive designed to help artists clarify their artistic identity, understand collector behavior, and develop meaningful relationships that support a sustainable creative career. This is not a course about chasing algorithms or going viral. It focuses on practical strategies for artist branding, audience development, collector engagement, and long-term career growth.
By the end of the series, you will have a clearer understanding of:
• Your artistic identity and positioning
• Who your ideal collectors are
• Where to find art collectors in real-world and online spaces
• How to build relationships that lead to long-term support and repeat collectors
• How to create a consistent public presence across your website, exhibitions, and social media platforms
Format
Each session is a live 90-minute Zoom workshop and includes:
• Guided teaching and practical career strategies
• Interactive exercises and audience-building frameworks
• Real-world examples and collector psychology insights
• A short mid-session break
• Live Q&A and discussion
Participants will also receive a all study materials from each session you signed up for. Enrollment is intentionally limited to maintain discussion quality and meaningful interaction.

“This workshop helped me see myself as an artist, where I lacked confidence in and know how. Some things I am still working on, especially writing about my work in simple language. I use too much jargon. Stella Chang gave me the tool set to talk about my work, know who my audience is and so much more. She really does jam 10 years of knowledge into 4 days of classes. This is not to be missed.”
